John Roach Chad Avret and Alana Avret will be based in the Statesboro office. With over 15 years of banking experience he will be responsible for providing loans to local businesses. Each will be responsible for a different area of the lending process including commercial real estate loans and mortgages.
Prior to joining the Morris Bank team he started his career at Sea Island Bank a Statesboro community bank. He has held several key positions in the banking industry most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Outside Director of Sinovus. Previously he was President of Statesboro Markets at Renaissance Bank. His role at Morris will focus on the Statesboro market.
Roach joined Sea Island Bank earlier this year following his success at the bank. He completed his undergraduate degree at Georgia Southern University. He has held various management positions in the banking industry most recently as Senior Vice President and Lending Officer at Synovus and most recently as President of Statesboro Markets at Renaissance Bank. He will focus on lending while improving Morris Banks customer experience. Both financial institutions have brought new and existing clients and employees to the community.

Maria April is now a member of the Morris County Board of Trustees after serving on the Morris County Freeholder Election Board. He has over 20 years of banking experience and has held various executive positions at Synoves Bank including Senior Vice President and Commercial Lending Officer. In addition to serving as a member of the Morris County University Board of Trustees he has served as regional director for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tennessee for the past five years.
Chad Avrett is currently Vice President of Commercial Lending at Synovus Bank. She has a degree in Business Administration and is passionate about helping small businesses. Avret is married to Alana Avret and they have three children. He works from his home in Atlanta.
